~ MINISTRY MODEL ~

We believe that God has given parents, particularly the father, the primary responsibility for evangelizing and spiritually educating their own children. It is not the responsibility of “religious professionals” to take on this task. The local church is not meant to serve this cause in a leading way, but rather serves in a supportive manner by reinforcing the biblical nurturing that should be occurring at home.

In our contemporary American culture Christian parents have abdicated their God-given responsibility to ensure that their children are instructed in matters concerning God. Far too often Sunday School, children’s ministries and youth programs have become convenient substitutes for the home training of children. While we provide activities for children and youth they are generally done in a family integrated manner and not meant to run families ragged regarding time and commitment.

The program driven ministry model employed by most churches is not working. Children lack discipline, have little self-control and are migrating away from Christianity at rates as high as 88% (2002 SBC Council on the Family). Other factors destroying the family are high divorce rates and plummeting birth rates. For these reasons we seek to strengthen the American family by embracing a family focused model of ministry.
